RevMatch is a social platform for car enthusiasts. This page covers our Terms of Use — the rules for using the Service — and our Privacy Policy — what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language. Where we use legal terms, we mean exactly what they say.
1. Introduction
RevMatch is a social platform built for car enthusiasts. The "Service" includes all RevMatch products, features, applications, websites, technologies, and software — including our mobile apps, the RevMatch Shop, and any features we launch in the future.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy that follows. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Our mission
We exist to help car enthusiasts manage, research, and track the performance of their vehicles — journaling modifications, sharing builds, discovering compatible parts, and connecting with a community that gets it. Every enthusiast has their own idea of a perfect car, and across every discipline, make, model, and forum, we want RevMatch to be the place that brings those people together. We aim to be inclusive of all cars, all builds, and all skill levels.
We're developing tools and moderation systems to make that community safe and welcoming. We have systems that work to combat abuse, harassment, and violations of these Terms, and we may share information about misuse or harmful content with law enforcement where appropriate. See the Privacy Policy for details.
To run the Service, we store and transfer data across our systems, including outside of your country of residence. This infrastructure may be owned or operated by RevMatch or our affiliates and service providers.
2. Who Can Use RevMatch
To create an account and use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service, and they must agree to these Terms on your behalf.
- Not be barred from using the Service under applicable U.S. or other laws (for example, you must not appear on any U.S. government denied-party or sanctions list).
- Not be a registered sex offender, where that information is part of a public registry.
- Not have previously had a RevMatch account disabled for violating these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law — unless we've given you written permission to come back.
We may add additional eligibility requirements for specific features (for example, the RevMatch Shop, paid memberships, or features that involve verified identity).
3. Your Account
- You don't have to use your real name on RevMatch, but the information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- You're responsible for everything that happens on your account, including keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us right away at contact@revmatch.io if you think your account has been compromised.
- You can't create an account for someone else, share your account, or buy, sell, or transfer an account or username.
- If you're a Verified User, we store and protect that information using Google Firebase and our affiliated providers. See the Data Security section below.
- We may reclaim or change your username if we believe it's necessary — for example, if it infringes someone's trademark or impersonates another person.
4. Your Commitments & Community Conduct
RevMatch is a community. To keep it useful and safe, you agree not to:
- Impersonate any person, business, or vehicle ownership you don't have.
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or that could put another user at risk.
- Defame, stalk, bully, harass, threaten, dox, or intimidate any person or entity.
- Post hate speech, content that incites violence, content that sexually exploits minors, or content depicting graphic violence or illegal activity.
- Post spam, scams, deceptive listings, or unsolicited promotional content.
- Interfere with, impair, or disable any part of the Service — including scraping, automated access, or attempting to bypass rate limits or moderation tools.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service, except where applicable law expressly allows it.
- Collect or solicit private or confidential information about other users — including credit card numbers, government IDs, non-public phone numbers, addresses, or non-public email addresses.
- Post private or confidential information about anyone else, including non-consensual intimate imagery or any content that violates someone's lawful rights.
- Use RevMatch trademarks, logos, or brand assets except as expressly permitted by our Brand Guidelines or with our prior written permission.
We may, but aren't required to, monitor, review, or moderate content. We can remove content or restrict accounts at our discretion. See Account Termination.
5. Your Content & the License You Grant Us
RevMatch does not claim ownership of your content. You keep all rights to what you post — photos of your build, videos, journal entries, comments, listings, and everything else.
When you post content to the Service, you grant RevMatch a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to host, store, use, distribute, modify (for example, to resize or format it), run, copy, publicly display or perform, translate, and create derivative works of that content — solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This includes things like featuring your post in a discovery feed, generating thumbnails, or showing your build in a community highlight reel.
You can end this license at any time by deleting your content or your account. Content you've shared with others may still appear if those others have copied, reshared, or saved it before you deleted it. Deleted content may also persist for a limited period in our backups.
You also give us permission to use your username, profile picture, and information about your public actions (follows, garage adds, posts you've liked) alongside ads and sponsored content, without additional compensation. You can manage some of these permissions in your account settings — see Your Privacy Choices.
You promise that, for every piece of content you post:
- You either own it or have the rights and permissions you need to post it and grant the license above.
- It doesn't violate anyone's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- It doesn't violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or any applicable law.
You agree that if anyone brings a claim against RevMatch related to content you posted, you will — to the extent permitted by law — indemnify and hold RevMatch harmless from the damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising out of that claim.
6. Photos & Visual Content
Visual Content includes photos, videos, screenshots, dyno graphs, scans, and any other images you upload to the Service. By submitting Visual Content, you represent that you own it or are authorized to post it, and that RevMatch may publish, distribute, and use it under the license in Section 5 without additional permission from any third party.
- The license you grant covers use of your Visual Content in connection with the Service — including using it (in whole or in part) for promotional purposes, distributing it to authorized partners and integrations, and creating thumbnails or low-resolution copies.
- Where reasonable, we'll attribute your Visual Content using your username, profile picture, post title, and tags. An inadvertent failure to attribute is not a breach of these Terms.
- RevMatch and its distributors may correct or edit titles, descriptions, tags, and metadata associated with your Visual Content.
- We use industry-recognized measures to discourage high-resolution copying of Visual Content posted on the Service, but we can't guarantee it won't happen. Low-resolution and "thumbnail" copies may be freely viewed and cached by browsers and integrations.
- You retain ownership and all intellectual property rights in your Visual Content. The license terminates when you remove the content from the Service, subject to anything separately licensed to a partner.
7. RevMatch's Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including our software, designs, logos, branding, sound, and visual assets we make available — belongs to RevMatch. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use it solely to access and use the Service.
If we provide stickers, overlays, sounds, or other assets for you to add to your posts, we keep all rights to those assets — but you keep all rights to your own content. You may only use our trademarks as permitted by our Brand Guidelines or with prior written permission.
8. Copyright & DMCA Notices
We respect intellectual property rights and expect you to do the same. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at contact@revmatch.io that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material on the Service that you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it (a direct URL works best).
- Your contact information.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
We may remove content in response to valid notices and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers. If you believe your content was removed by mistake, you can submit a counter-notice using the same address.
9. Reporting & Safety
If you see something on RevMatch that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines — abuse, harassment, threats, scams, intellectual property violations, or anything else that doesn't belong — report it from within the app, or email contact@revmatch.io. We review reports and may remove content, restrict accounts, or escalate to law enforcement when appropriate.
In an emergency involving a risk to life, please contact your local emergency services first.
10. RevMatch Shop & Paid Features
If you buy something from the RevMatch Shop or pay for a feature (for example, a premium membership or a ticketed event), additional terms apply — including our Shop Return Policy. Payment information is processed by third-party payment providers; see Section 14 for how we handle transaction data.
11. Removing Content & Terminating Accounts
We can remove any content or information you share on the Service if we believe it violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law — or if we're permitted or required to do so by law. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you create risk or legal exposure for us, repeatedly infringe others' intellectual property, or seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms.
If you believe your account has been terminated in error, or if you want to disable or delete your account yourself, you can do that from in-app settings or by contacting contact@revmatch.io.
Content you delete may persist for a limited period in backup copies and will still be visible where others have shared or saved it. Sections covering content licenses you granted before deletion, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution survive termination of your account.
12. Our Agreement & What Happens if We Disagree
Our Agreement
- If any aspect of this agreement is unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
- Any amendment or waiver must be in writing and signed by us. If we fail to enforce any aspect, it's not a waiver.
- We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
- This agreement does not give rights to any third parties.
- You can't transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without our consent. Ours can be assigned — for example, if our ownership changes in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Who is responsible if something happens
The Service is provided "as is," and we can't guarantee it will always be safe, secure, or work perfectly. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
RevMatch is a community — we don't control what others do or say, and we're not responsible for anyone's conduct or content (whether online or offline). We're also not responsible for services or features offered by other companies, even if you access them through the Service.
Our liability is limited as far as the law allows. You agree we won't be liable for any lost profits, revenues, information, or data, or any consequential, special, indirect, exemplary, punitive, or incidental damages arising out of or related to these Terms — even if we knew they were possible. This includes when we delete your content, information, or account. Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months.
You agree to defend (at our request), indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs — arising out of or connected with these Terms or your use of the Service. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to your indemnification.
Disputes & arbitration
Except as provided below, you and RevMatch agree that any cause of action, legal claim, or dispute between us arising out of or related to these Terms or RevMatch ("claim(s)") must be resolved by individual arbitration. Class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted. If a court finally determines that a particular claim or request for relief can't be arbitrated under this provision, only that claim or request may be brought in court — everything else stays in arbitration.
Instead of arbitration, either of us can bring claims in a local "small claims" court if that court's rules allow it. The American Arbitration Association will administer arbitrations under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You and we expressly waive a trial by jury. The following claims do not have to be arbitrated and may be brought in court: disputes related to intellectual property; violations of our Community Guidelines; and efforts to interfere with the Service or use it in unauthorized ways. Questions about the scope and enforceability of this arbitration provision are for a court to decide. This arbitration provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
30-day opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of the date you first agreed to these Terms by sending your name, residence address, username, the email or phone number you use with your account, and a clear statement that you want to opt out, to contact@revmatch.io.
Before either of us starts arbitration, the party with the dispute must send the other a written Notice of Dispute that includes name, residence address, username, account email or phone number, a detailed description of the dispute, and the relief sought. Send notices to contact@revmatch.io. If we can't resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days after the Notice is received, either of us may commence arbitration.
We'll pay all arbitration filing fees, administration and hearing costs, and arbitrator fees for any arbitration we bring, or where your claims seek less than $75,000 and you timely provided a Notice of Dispute. For all other claims, fees are allocated under the arbitration provider's rules, including rules regarding frivolous or improper claims.
For any claim that is not arbitrated or resolved in small claims court, you agree it will be resolved exclusively in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia or a state court located in Fulton County, Georgia. The laws of the State of Georgia, to the extent not preempted by federal law, govern these Terms and any claim, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
Feedback
We always appreciate feedback or suggestions, but we may use them without restriction or compensation, and we're under no obligation to keep them confidential.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our Service or policies change. Unless the law requires otherwise, we'll notify you (for example, through the app or by email) before changes take effect, and give you a chance to review them. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you're bound by the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
14. Information We Collect
To provide the Service, we process information about you. The types we collect depend on how you use RevMatch. You can review and delete much of this information from your in-app Settings, or by contacting us — see Your Privacy Choices.
Information you provide
We collect the content, communications, and other information you give us — when you sign up, create or share content, log a modification, message someone, or contact support. This includes metadata in your content (such as the location of a photo or the date a file was created) and information from features you use, like our camera. Our systems automatically process content and communications to analyze context for the purposes described below — for example, suggesting related parts or flagging potential abuse.
Data with special protections
You can choose to provide information in your profile fields. Some types of information — for example, racial or ethnic origin, philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership — may be subject to special protections under the laws of your country. Don't provide this information unless you want it on RevMatch.
Networks & connections
We collect information about the people, accounts, hashtags, vehicles, and groups you're connected to, and how you interact with them — for example, who you message most, what builds you follow, what groups you join. If you choose to upload, sync, or import your contacts, we use that to help you and others find people you may know.
Your usage
We collect information about how you use the Service — the content you view or engage with; features you use; the actions you take; the accounts you interact with; and the time, frequency, and duration of your activities. For example, we log when you last used the app and what posts or videos you've viewed.
Transaction information
If you buy something on the Service — a Shop item, a ticket, a paid feature — we collect information about the transaction. This includes payment information (card number and other card details, handled by our payment processor), authentication information, and billing, shipping, and contact details.
What others share about you
We receive content, communications, and information that other people provide when they use the Service — for example, when someone tags you in a photo, mentions you, sends you a message, or imports your contact info.
Information from partners
Advertisers, app developers, parts manufacturers, and publishers send us information through their integrations — including our APIs, SDKs, login button, and ad pixels. These partners may share information about your activity off RevMatch (the websites you visit, the parts pages you view, the purchases you make, the ads you see) whether or not you're logged into RevMatch at the time. We require each partner to have the lawful rights to share that data with us. We also receive offline information from third-party data providers with the rights to share it.
Device information
We collect information from the devices you use to integrate with the Service, and combine it across devices. This includes:
- Device attributes: operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage, browser type, app and file names and types, plugins.
- Device operations: behaviors like whether a window is foregrounded or backgrounded, or mouse movements (which help us tell humans from bots).
- Identifiers: unique identifiers and device IDs, including from games, apps, or accounts you use.
- Device signals: Bluetooth signals, and information about nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, and cell towers.
- Data from device settings: information you let us access through your device settings — for example, GPS location, camera, photos, or microphone (only when you turn them on for RevMatch).
- Network & connections: mobile operator or ISP name, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, and connection speed.
- Cookie data: data from cookies stored on your device, including cookie IDs and settings.
15. How We Use This Information
To provide, personalize, and improve the Service
We use what we know to deliver and personalize features, recommendations, and ads — including suggesting parts that match your build, surfacing posts from the disciplines you follow, and tailoring your feed.
Across devices
We connect activity across the devices you use with RevMatch so your experience is consistent — for example, picking up where you left off on a different device.
Location
We use location information — current location, where you live, the places you go, and businesses or events you're near — to provide, personalize, and improve the Service. Location can come from precise device location (if you allow it), IP address, or your activity on the Service (check-ins, events you attend).
Research & development
We use information to develop, test, and improve the Service, including by conducting surveys, A/B tests, and troubleshooting.
Ads & sponsored content
We use what we know about your interests, actions, and connections to select and personalize ads, offers, and other sponsored content. We don't share information that personally identifies you with advertisers unless you give us permission.
Measurement & analytics
We use information (including your activity off our Service, such as websites you visit and ads you see) to help advertisers and partners measure performance and understand how people use their services.
Communicate with you
We use your information to send you product updates, marketing communications you've opted into, and important notices about your account or our policies — and to respond when you contact us.
Safety, security, and integrity
We use information to keep the Service safe — to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, spam, account takeovers, harassment, and illegal activity; to enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines; and to verify accounts where applicable.
Research for social good
We use information (including with research partners) to support research and innovation on topics of general social welfare, technological advancement, public interest, and health.
16. How This Information Is Shared
With other people on RevMatch
Some information you share is public — your username, your public profile, your public posts, and information you share with a public audience. Anyone, on or off the Service, may be able to see, access, reshare, or download that information, including through search engines, APIs, integrations, and offline media. People who can see your activity may also screenshot, reshare, or describe it to others outside the audience you originally shared with.
When you comment on or react to someone else's content, your comment or reaction is visible to anyone who can see that content — and the original poster can change the audience later.
Apps, websites, and third-party integrations
When you use third-party services that are integrated with RevMatch, those services can receive information about what you post or share — for example, when you use a "Share to RevMatch" button on another site, or sign in to a third-party app with RevMatch. Apps you use can also receive your public profile and information you choose to share with them. Information collected by these third parties is subject to their own terms and policies, not this one.
Devices and operating systems that provide native versions of RevMatch (where we haven't built our own first-party app) will have access to the information you share with them so they can provide core functionality.
If the ownership or control of all or part of our Service changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner.
With third-party partners
We work with partners who help us run and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will. We impose strict restrictions on how partners can use the data we share. The categories of third parties are:
- Analytics partners: We share aggregated statistics with creators, businesses, and Page admins so they can understand how people engage with their content — for example, the number of accounts that viewed, reacted to, or commented on a post, along with aggregate demographic info.
- Advertisers: We give advertisers reports about who's seeing their ads and how those ads are performing, but we don't share information that personally identifies you unless you give us permission. For example, an advertiser might learn that an ad reached women aged 25–34 in Atlanta who follow track-day content.
- Measurement partners: Companies that help us measure ad performance across services.
- Sellers and creators on RevMatch: When you buy from a Shop seller or subscribe to a creator, that seller or creator receives the public information and any other info you share with them, plus what's needed to complete the transaction (shipping and contact details).
- Vendors and service providers: Technical infrastructure, hosting (including Google Firebase), customer service, payments, surveys, and similar support services.
- Researchers and academics: Partners conducting research that advances scholarship or the public interest.
- Law enforcement and legal requests: We share information with law enforcement or in response to legal requests where permitted or required by law — including to respond to subpoenas and court orders, to protect our or others' rights, or to prevent imminent harm.
17. Your Privacy Choices & Rights
You have meaningful control over your information on RevMatch:
- Access & download: Request a copy of your account data from in-app Settings or by emailing contact@revmatch.io.
- Correct: Update profile, contact, and account information at any time from Settings.
- Delete: Delete individual posts, your garage, or your entire account from Settings. Deleted content may persist for a limited period in backups and may remain where others have reshared it.
- Restrict or object: Where the law gives you the right to restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, you can do so by contacting contact@revmatch.io.
- Location: Turn precise location on or off in your device's settings at any time.
- Notifications: Manage push, email, and SMS notifications in Settings. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any marketing message; you'll still receive transactional and account-related messages.
- Ad preferences: Reset your advertising ID in your device settings, and adjust which information we use to personalize ads in the Ads section of your in-app Settings.
- Cookies & tracking: Use your browser controls to refuse or delete cookies. Some features of the Service may not work without them.
- Authorized agents: Where the law allows, you can designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
We'll respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
For users in California, the EU/UK, or other jurisdictions with specific data-protection laws, additional rights and disclosures may apply. Contact contact@revmatch.io for region-specific requests.
18. How Long We Keep Information
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy. Different types of information have different retention periods — for example:
- Account information is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
- Posts and content are retained while they exist on the Service; deleted content may persist briefly in backups.
- Transaction records are retained as long as required by tax, accounting, and consumer-protection law.
- Safety and abuse records may be retained longer if we need them to enforce these Terms or prevent recurrence.
19. Data Security
We use industry-recognized administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring for unauthorized access. Verified User information is stored and protected via Google Firebase and our affiliated providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we'll notify you and any regulator where the law requires it.
You can help by using a strong, unique password, enabling any available two-factor authentication, and reporting suspicious account activity to contact@revmatch.io.
20. International Transfers
RevMatch operates globally. To provide the Service, we may transfer, store, and process your information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection rules that differ from those in your country. Where required by law, we use approved transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.
21. Minors & Parental Controls
RevMatch is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact contact@revmatch.io and we'll take steps to delete it.
For users between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction, additional protections may apply — for example, limited ad personalization. Parents and guardians who believe their child's account should be removed can contact us at the address above.
22. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll notify you through the Service or by other appropriate means before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
23. How to Contact Us
Have a question about these Terms or our privacy practices? Reach out to contact@revmatch.io and we'll get back to you.
